UMPI welcomes new staff members

The University of Maine at Presque Isle is welcoming 7 new staff members this Spring 2022 semester.

Kathryn Bosse is joining UMPI as a TRIO College Services Academic Advisor/Upward Bound and Talent Search in the northern region. Bosse is a graduate of Bowdoin College and has worked in the Madawaska School District as a Peer Advisor and Education technician.

Caroline “Carrie” Boyce is joining UMPI as an Accounting Support Specialist in the Business Office. Boyce is an UMPI graduate in Accounting and has worked as an accountant and finance manager. Boyce enjoys spending time with her three children and granddaughter. She is also a Girl Scout volunteer, mainly as the “cookie mom” for her daughter’s troop.

Madison “Madi” Exferd is joining the campus as Coordinator of Campus Engagement. A recent UMPI graduate and former senior residence hall advisor, Exferd also has volunteer experience as an Oregon Military Teen Ambassador and Teen Panel member. She is eager to continue to support UMPI students with ways to enrich their college experiences.

Maurice House is joining UMPI as a Mechanical Specialist Plumber CL3. House has extensive experience, having owned his own plumbing business as a certified Master Plumber. He also has experience in electronics, HVAC systems, and holds a master certification in fuels.

Allen Morrill is joining UMPI as the Director of Library Services. Morrill has extensive library experience, most recently as the Director of the Langenheim Memorial Library at Thiel College in Greenville, Penn. He has implemented literacy programs and has worked to ensure library access to students both on campus and in remote locations. He is looking forward to joining the UMPI community and working with the students to improve their college success.

Delanie-Rae Strout is continuing her role as Assistant Softball Coach. A recent UMPI graduate and UMPI Softball Team Captain, Strout was active during her time at UMPI as a member of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee and as an Owl Mentor.

Nadia Thompson is joining UMPI as a TRIO College Services Academic Advisor/Upward Bound and Talent Search in the Washburn/Presque Isle region. Thompson is a graduate of UMPI and an Upward Bound alumnus. She also has extensive experience working within higher education and the high school system.

The following part-time faculty also have joined campus since Fall 2021: Tracie Papsadora, Health Administration; Shawn Guerrette, Physics; and Mindy Bell, Mathematics and Sciences.
