Through collaborations with University of Maine System campuses, the Houlton Center provides UMPI classes and other undergraduate courses, as well as some statewide graduate and technical courses for students pursuing an academic major, professional certification, career development, or personal enrichment.
Available classes are applicable towards an academic degree with the University of Maine at Presque Isle or other University of Maine System campuses. Modes of delivery include:
- on-site live instruction
- video conferencing (VC)
- online instruction
- hybrid
Current and prospective students receive assistance in the areas of admission requirements, academic advising and planning, financial aid, and student success. On-site registration and textbook purchase assistance are also provided. Additionally, support for technical applications, such as email, internet, word-processing, and library services, is available.
HHEC offers a local connection to degree programs and services of the University campuses in a collaborative space that engages students to learn together in a supportive and motivational environment.
Degree programs include, but are not limited to: Associate’s Degrees in Business Administration, Criminal Justice, Liberal Arts, Liberal Studies, Mental Health & Human Services, and Information & Library Science; Bachelor’s Degrees in Applied Science, Business Administration, Elementary Education, History, Liberal Studies, Information & Library Science, Mental Health & Human Services, and Psychology; and Master’s Degrees in Adult Education, Counseling/Rehabilitation Counseling, and Liberal Studies.
