Employees honored during annual recognition event

The University of Maine at Presque Isle honored several employees for their years of service during the annual Employee Recognition Reception held on May 15. Twenty-five employees were recognized for their combined 490 years of service to the University. Employees were honored with various tokens of appreciation, from clocks to framed art.

Recognized for 40 years of service were Charles Holmquist and Eldon Levesque.

Recognized for 35 years of service were Anderson Giles and Donna Underwood.

Recognized for 30 years of service was Virginia Fischer.

Recognized for 25 years of service were Barbara Devaney, Clare Exner, Barbara Lambert, Philip Parks and Christopher Smith.

Recognized for 20 years of service was Nola Belanger.

Recognized for 15 years of service were Barbara Blackstone, Barbara Chalou, Mitchell James, Marteen Hester, Deborah Hodgkins, Linda Mastro, Jay Robinson, and Greg Shaw.

Recognized for 10 years of service were Eric Brissette, Darylen Cote, and David Ouellette.

Recognized for 5 years of service were Jannie Durr, Carolyn Dorsey-Durepo, and William More.

During the Recognition Reception, officials also honored seven retirees: Laura Bouchard, Administrative Specialist with TRiO Upward Bound; Barbara Chalou, Professor of Education; Malcolm Coulter, Lecturer in Math; Clare Exner, Professor of Business Management; Anderson Giles, Professor of Art; Linda Graves, Professor of Medical Laboratory Technology and Program Director; and Robert Pinette, Professor of Biology.

“We owe a great deal of thanks to our dedicated and hard-working faculty and staff, as well as to our retiring employees, who have given many years of service, and in many cases the majority of their careers, to our campus,” UMPI President Linda Schott said. “Our employees work every day to keep our campus running smoothly and efficiently. Due to their efforts, our campus community is stronger and our students well served.”
