April 12-13, 2022
THEME: Renewal
University Day Poster Presentations will be held April 12, 2022, from 5 p.m.– 6:45 p.m. in the Campus Center MPR, prior to the DLS speaker.
Oral Presentations will be held on April 13, 2022, campus-wide starting at 9:15 a.m.
A participants’ reception will occur April 19th at 12:30, held at the President’s house to thank everyone and distribute certificates of participation to presenters and club participants. All University Day presenters, mentors and club members are invited to attend.
Feedback on Presentations
We will be making feedback forms available to all who attend the poster and oral presentations and encouraging them to give helpful feedback. This should eliminate some of our past problems of having to find two judges for each presentation and getting uneven, not always helpful judgments. Mentors will receive the feedback forms and can share this formative assessment with their students to help them improve.
Each April, the University sets aside a day to showcase the students and their academic achievements. This academic year, University Day will be Wednesday, April 13, 2022. This is a campus-wide event organized as a conference with student presentations offered throughout the day. One of the event’s objectives is to provide students with the opportunity to experience a conference environment. A second equally important objective is to model a lifelong learning habit by highlighting the importance of participating in out-of-classroom educational venues.
Presentations come from individual students, groups or an entire class with faculty and staff serving as advisers to the student presentations. The work presented may take any form: traditional research, service-learning, internships, creative works, cultural awareness, or community service.
The theme for this year’s event is “Renewal.” All students are encouraged to submit proposals that will highlight work done in the summer ’21, fall ’21 and spring ’22 semesters.
In addition to the academic presentations, a complimentary luncheon is served.
If students have questions about University Day, please contact either a course instructor or a member of the University Day Committee.
