Finish in Four

At the University of Maine at Presque Isle, our goal is to ensure you can Finish in Four. We’ve undertaken a new initiative focused on timely degree completion that saves you time and money, and eliminates barriers in getting to your chosen career field.

As part of our Finish and Four effort, we:

  • Encourage students to complete 15 credits per semester or 30 credits per academic year.
  • Offer a custom advising experience–every student gets an academic advisor and a professional advisor to ensure they’re taking the classes they need to graduate on time.
  • Provide a wide range of summer classes so students who can’t get to 30 credits between the fall and spring semesters can catch up during the summer.
  • Monitor progress with our comprehensive Early Warning System so we know when students are struggling with a course and can provide the support they need to finish.
  • Offer a full-service Tutoring Center in our Center for Innovative Learning to help students develop their skills and improve their academic performance.

And to break down just how you can Finish in Four, we’ve created Academic Maps for every degree (see this Academic Map for Athletic Training to view an example); if you follow the recommended sequence, you’ll be sure to complete your Bachelor’s degree in four years. Want to see an Academic Map for an area of study you’re interested in pursuing? Just go to umpi.edu/academics and click on an area of study; Program Requirements (these are the Academic Maps) are linked at the bottom of the page.

Together, we can help you Finish in Four and turn your degree into a great career.
