Cybersecurity

Protect the network! Protect the data! Protect the software!

The growing field of Cybersecurity focuses on the protection and defense of systems, networks, and programs from digital attacks.

Not only will you learn and strategize how best to protect and defend, but our ‘big picture’ approach to cybersecurity will allow you to take courses not only in computer science and technology but also in the humanities and social sciences.

    Title 1

Welcome to one of your main classrooms: local agricultural fields, where you’ll do everything from plant and soil testing to discovering ways to maximize crop yield.

    Title 2

Ready to solve real-world problems in the lab? At UMPI, you’ll hone your research skills in areas such as plant disease and pest management while helping to find solutions for area farmers.

    Title 3

While you’re in the program, you’ll get to learn about future career paths, employers, and job opportunities close to home and further afield.

    Title 4

Work is underway to build the Zillman Family Greenhouse, a state-of-the-art teaching and research facility with three climate controlled areas for classroom and research purposes.

    What sets us apart?

Uniquely prepares students to respond to cyber-attack and security breaches by using a super realistic virtual environment, housed in the Maine Cyber Range facility and powered by Cyberbit Range technology. This first-of-its-kind facility in New England allows students to gain real career experience by combating mock attacks.

Foundational coursework in information technology, programming, risk assessment, and supply chain security will produce career-ready graduates with a broad, yet refined skill set. As a result, our program provides you with the skills required to work in small, medium, and large business settings.

Our coursework is delivered sequentially to ensure a strong IT knowledge base prior to learning defense strategies.

This explains what Academic Maps are.

Complete courses at your pace and move on to the next in the same session. With 6 session starts a year, you can customize your workload and earn credits faster to fit your needs and busy schedule.
