Dear UMPI Community,
As we adjust to all the changes happening on campus because of our Coronavirus response efforts, I have three important updates to share with you.
First, we’ll be offering several campus forums to help answer any questions you may have about our transition to distance/online classes and residence students moving out of the dorms by the end of Spring Break. Here are dates, times and locations:
Meetings for All Students:
Thursday, March 12, at Noon, Wieden Auditorium
Friday, March 13, at 11 a.m., Wieden Auditorium
Meeting for All Staff:
Friday, March 13, at 10 a.m., Wieden Auditorium
Meeting for All Faculty
Friday, March 13, at 12:30 p.m., Pullen 210
Second, I’m urging all students, faculty, and staff to ensure that information they’re sharing in conversations and on social media is accurate and informative. Please avoid conjecture as misinformation leads to unnecessary anxiety and concerns. If you’re aware of questions that haven’t been answered, please let UMPI leadership know so timely and appropriate responses can be provided.
Third, to help with information-sharing, we’ve started a COVID-19 FAQ specific to UMPI. That FAQ is attached and is also available online at www.umpi.edu/emergency. Again, please reach out to UMPI leadership if there are questions that should be added to this document.
Finally, I would like to thank everyone for their understanding, their concern, and their help as we work through this transition together.
